In the Zone: Finding Flow Through Positive Psychology

Course Abstract
In the Zone: Finding Flow Through Positive Psychology is a 2-hour online continuing education (CE) course that offers a how-to guide on incorporating flow into everyday life.
According to the CDC, four out of ten people have not discovered a satisfying life purpose. Further, the APA reports that most people suffer from moderate to high levels of stress, and according to SAMSHA, adult prescription medication abuse (primarily to counteract attention deficit disorders) is one of the most concerning health problems today. And while clinicians now have a host of resources to mitigate distress and reduce symptomatology, the question remains: how do clinicians move clients beyond baseline levels of functioning to a state of fulfillment imbued with a satisfying life purpose? The answer may lie in a universal condition with unexpected benefits…
This course will explore the concept of flow, also known as optimal performance, which is a condition we are all capable of, yet seldom cultivate. When in flow we experience a profound and dramatic shift in the way we experience ourselves, our capabilities, and the world around us. Our focus sharpens, our strengths are heightened, we feel an intense sense of euphoria and connection to the world around us, and we often realize capabilities we didn’t know were possible. For clients, flow doesn’t just help them become more capable, it dramatically improves their lives – teaching them not just to expect more from themselves, but how to cultivate the very conditions that make expecting more possible. This course, packed with exercises, tips, and tools, will demonstrate just how flow can be incorporated into your everyday life, and used to help your clients move from simply surviving to a life that harnesses and builds upon their own unique potential to thrive.

Customer Testimonials
Thought that this would be a "gut" course and not that central to work with my patients. Found out was quite the happy surprise that I related this to several patients who I believe will benefit greatly by learning and applying the concept of the flow. I think that it will also be of great benefit to me personally. Thanks for a really positive surprise and a gem of a course.
Information was explained clearly. Was well written and well organized. Very helpful overview.
I really enjoyed the information presented in this course. I definitely find it helpful both professionally and personally.
Nice additive and reminder for a lot of what had some knowledge of already, thanks.
I absolutely loved this course. I have always been an advocate of positive psychology and this was so comprehensive and gave many functional ways to utilize it in therapy. Thank you for the experience.

Well presented.
I really enjoyed this session. The material was interesting, applicable, and well written.
This course covered the concept of Flow very well. The tips on how to use this information with clients was most appreciated.
Since I have retired from teaching and only have a small private practice, I have begun acting more. If there is one thing that ruins the experience of acting, it is self consciousness. So...this was not only applicable to my clients, but to me personally. I will refer to it often.
Very interesting and practical suggestions for clients. Thank you!
It can be very appropriate with some of my physical disability clients as well as myself.
Very helpful both professionally and on a personal level. Thank you for this excellent course.
The Flow concept is pertinent in this course as far as identifying and initiating optimal performance to obtain the state of flow. I would appreciate additional focus on the effects on individuals when the "lack of progress" occurs after the state of flow has been achieved, and thus the consequences that transpire in a prolonged state of stagnation.
Good information. I found the categories somewhat repetitive and overlapping.
Super excited to see CEs available for Flow.
It is great to have available CE courses on this relatively newer topic in psychology, positive psychology. This CE program was also helpful in providing practical tips on promoting positive psychology concepts.
Very clear and specific treatment techniques for clinicians to employ.
This was a clearly delivered program on Flow. I'm familiar with the concepts and like the way the information was summarized and organized. This is helpful for my practice.
One of my favorite courses!
I found the content very informational and easy to read with great examples.
Great course with interesting concepts. Clear and easy to follow.
Really liked the sentence about the hourly decisions we make that make the person we want to be emerge. Overall, very interesting course and the important points can be easily implemented in practice with clients.
Great course - such an interesting topic and modality for motivation!
Excellent course and information that I can utilize with clients across many spectrums!
Great course which will help me to use more aspects of positive psychology in my clinical practice.
This was a joy to read through. I was in the flow so to speak. I hope you will offer more courses on the theory of Positive Psychology
A lot of information to absorb..I will continue to study FLOW so that I can use these concepts in my work.
Encouraging and motivating course!
Excellent course. Very useful information!
A good course that gave specific concepts to for a terms to which I previously had a general notion. "Flow", "In the Zone" are so often part of the vernacular in our culture that it was nice to get some specific clear ideas of the parameters and dynamics.
Hi! This is one of the best and most useful courses I have read. I would need to study it further to master the answers to all of the questions without looking back at the text. That being said, it is entirely accessible to use as a tool to utilize with clients (and with myself and friends and family). I know I will be referring back to this course time and time again. The writer's clear and succinct style and utilization of examples is very helpful. I also love the integration of mind, body, heart, and spirit. Ultimately being in the flow is about getting out of our heads and into the essence of our beingness and connecting to life. What could be better than that?
I understood many of these concepts, but this course helped me to integrate into a complete mode; flow or what I call being on the"beam".
This course was enjoyable, well presented, with thorough content and references. THANK YOU!
The course was well organized and easy to understand. Great presentation.
Great course. Enjoyed it and learned a great deal which will readily contribute to my practice.
I really enjoyed this and felt like it gave me some great key words and strategies to better support my clients.
Wonderful course! Enjoyed it and learned a great deal. One of best courses I've taken in a long time! Very applicable to my practice. Thanks!!!
This course was fascinating! I came away with a much better understanding of flow, the conditions necessary to enter a state of flow, and the many benefits of flow. Excellent course! Thank you!
A great course: rich content presented clearly. An important contribution to an important trend in psychology, counseling, coaching, etc.
This was a well written course about Flow. The examples of how to apply the concepts with a client are very useful.
Relevant and convenient
This course is very useful. It would take some time to actually learn how to incorporatethis content into actual practice. That is not a bad thing. Cudos to the author.
I love the course, I love the courses available. I searched many places to try and find a course on flow psychology I wish they were more opportunities to certify. yours was amazing I'll be coming back.
